Hey there! I’m Nicole Hanusek, a San Francisco artist. I find joy in painting vibrant sea life and animals with a touch of realism and watercolor freedom.
I've done several rounds of abstract octopus watercolor paintings - I might be a little obsessed. This started during the pandemic when I was completely depleted from Zoom meetings, these paintings made me feel so much better!
Inspired by my early love of comic book illustrations, I occasionally do black and white realistic line drawings of animals, objects, food, and plants. Some are commissioned for famous SF Michelin-starred restaurant, Lazy Bear.
And, of course, pet portraits. I absolutely love drawing or painting animals, especially dogs or cats. The fur is such a fun challenge. Here are some pet commissions, some animal illustrations and animal paintings.
